Stairway Refinishing: Increasing Your Home’s Style One Step At a Time

Are you looking for a high-impact painting project, delivering some serious style? It might be time for a close look at your stairs…

Or, if you don’t want to look at your stairs that closely, that’s also a sign that it’s time for fresh paint. But seriously, stairs are high-traffic surfaces thanks to running kids, pet paws, bumps, thumps, and scrapes. The bruises accumulate.

If you have worn, tired carpeting, that can be a major eyesore too.

How Should You Update Your Stairs?

Hands-down, the most popular approach right now is to stain the treads and paint the risers, creating that clean, crisp look. The combination of rich, natural stain and bright white is just gorgeous.

The key here is to do the job efficiently and correctly.

Efficiently because you don’t want your stairs out of commission for a long period of time (unless you’re really good at sliding down the banister), and correctly because we’re guessing you don’t want to repeat the process in 6 months. The right products, prep, and techniques are essential.

Beauty and durability are a MUST.

Painting a Stairway and Adding Wainscoting

Beautiful, right?

Our client (just like you) wanted to drastically update their stairs. They chose to have them painted and refinished, like we suggested above, and then took things to the next level with wainscoting. In fact, they wrapped the wainscoting right around the dining room as well, keeping that style going.
Take a look here for more photos and the full project!

Wait, do you offer carpentry too?

We do! If you need trim, molding, or wainscoting, we can absolutely handle that (
explore our carpentry services here). It keeps the process simple and convenient for you, and also adds to the efficiency of the project for us as well.

Fresh Stain Is a Beautiful Thing!

In this case, our client was ready for a more subtle update. We darkened the stain on their railing, and also painted the trim. It created a sophisticated, modern look, and we didn’t need to do anything to the treads and risers since the carpeting is in great shape.

It’s all about finding the right solution for YOU and your home.
