So, you're thinking about painting the cabinets.

You love the idea of a fresh new look. You also love your kitchen not being a disaster zone for three weeks. The good news? Both are reasonable, and both can happen.

Painting your cabinets is one of those rare home upgrades that's actually fun to talk about. New color, new energy, and no contractor parked in your driveway for a couple of months. But here's the catch: a lot of painters paint cabinets, and very few really know how to do it right. The difference shows up about six months later, when the cheap version starts chipping and peeling.

Let's make sure yours is the version that lasts.

Why paint your cabinets instead of replacing them?

Let’s break it down.

Replacing a kitchen is expensive and messy. Painting a kitchen is significantly less expensive and significantly less messy. You skip the demolition, the dust, the dumpster, the weeks of takeout. In fact, most cabinet repaints are start-to-finish in under a week.

You also get total control of the look. Warm white cabinets? Done. Trendy dark green on the bottom with gray uppers? Bold, but we love it. Anything in between? That's what we're here for.

So, if you like your kitchen's bones (size, layout, overall style) and you just want it to look like the year you actually live in, cabinet painting is probably your move. You just need to partner with someone who specializes in the process. Remember: a lot of painters paint cabinets, but few are actually good at it.

Spoiler alert: we are very good at it.

Here's how a Jondec cabinet project actually goes.

01
No-Obligation Estimate
One of our estimators comes to see your kitchen, takes measurements, and talks through your vision. No clipboard sales pitch, no pressure.
02
Review Your Proposal
No fuzzy details, no twist endings, no "well, actually" emails six days in. We have this down to a science, and we share all the numbers right up front.
03
We Do the Work
Nope, no catch. A painting company that actually shows up and delivers, exactly as promised. We prep thoroughly, contain the workspace, and bring your cabinet doors and drawers back to our spray shop for the kind of finish you can't get in your backyard.
04
Reinstallation
Once everything's painted and cured, we put it all back together and handle any small touch-ups along the way.
05

FAQs

Cabinet Painting FAQ

  • How long does it take to paint kitchen cabinets?

Depends on the size of your kitchen and the overall scope, but most projects wrap up within a week.

  • Will you paint my cabinets in my house?

Some painters use a corner of your garage or basement as a makeshift spray booth. We don't. We have a dedicated spray shop, which means a better finish, a faster turnaround, and much of the mess staying out of your home.

  • Are painted cabinets actually durable?

When done right, absolutely. We use the right prep, the right primer, and finish coats specifically designed for cabinets and trim. Where people run into trouble is hiring an inexperienced painter, DIYing it, or using regular interior paint (which is not built for the abuse a kitchen takes). You need a hard finish for this. Regular wall paint just isn't.

  • Can you paint any type of cabinet?

Most of them, yes. But not all. We'd rather tell you upfront if your cabinets aren't a good candidate than take your money and disappoint you later.
