Labor Day. Most people don't know exactly why we get the first Monday in September off, they just accept it as a day to sleep in and enjoy some much-needed R&R. And rightly so. We, as Americans, work very hard to provide the "American Dream" for our families; but researching it a little further you'll notice the government recognized, 131 years ago in 1885, that Americans are hard workers and deserve a day to rest.

Our employees are some of the hardest working individuals out there and we recognize that; so on Labor Day none of our employees will be working. But what is there to do with that time off? We scoured the internet in search of area activities, and here's what we found (click on the event to learn more):

FRANKFORT FALL FEST

CENTENNIAL PARK WEST OUTDOOR CONCERT

CPW CRUISE NIGHT

MOVIES ON THE GREEN: MUPPETS WIZRD OF OZ

FRANKFORT LABOR DAY PARADE

MANHATTAN LABOR DAY PARADE AND FIREWORKS

JOLIET SLAMMERS FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT
